Apple’s reduced price out of warranty iphone battery replacement offer period time is running down. The program allows customers to buy a replacement battery at a greatly discounted price from £79 to £25 in the UK.
The move by Apple is in response to backlash received last year when the company revealed it intentionally slowed down older model iphones with updates to prevent performance issues. The program was introduced so that for a limited time only customers could receive the reduced replacement as a way of apology. The service is due to end on the 31st December 2018, so you’ll need to act fast before the prices shoot back up in the New Year.
Iphone 6 and newer customers will have until the New Year to make an appointment to have their battery replaced before the program ends. After the cut-price program ends the price of out-of-warranty iPhone battery replacements will increase back to £79.
To check the health of your iPhone battery you simply need to go to the settings on your phone, scroll to and open “battery”. You’ll then see a screen that shows battery usage and a “Battery Health” option that will show the batteries health in percentage and whether the battery requires replacing.
The out of warranty battery program is available to customers with an iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, iPhone 8 and iPhone X. Newer models will not eligible, but any customers experiencing problems with their battery on these devices should qualify for a free replacement.
